Ugly Teens Naked
Ugly Teens Naked is an unconventional teen movie that delves deep into bullying and online sexting, following three self-conscious teenagers at an out-of-control party attended by two different types of instigator types (a girlizer and shy nerd respectively). Director Nima Nourizadeh goes for a Girls Gone Wild vibe without its charm; instead opting for more of an “I told you so!” attitude than its original found footage format and losing interest in their love story as the film becomes an endless parade of sweaty bodies shot and scored like an inferior music video.
“These videos attract an unprecedented wave of online commenters who call the teens attention whores, demand nude photos from them and threaten to release embarrassing footage if necessary. One commenter lashed out against them with: “This is disgusting!” and noted: “This type of behavior could easily lead to sexual crimes!”
Experts consider ugly-teen porn videos part of an increasingly toxic online culture that only recently has been understood fully by researchers. When combined with unachievable beauty pressure from fashion industry and reality TV culture where anyone can become famous (Celebrities like Kim Kardashian are now redefining what beauty means), experts believe these types of videos could be harmful to young people. “These messages seem to send out the message that if you aren’t good looking enough, that it is appropriate for them to self-mutilate,” according to Emilie Zaslow from Pace University New York City (Media Studies Professor). “This new form of self-mutilation.”
