She uses light-colored wires and white elastic bands so her braces blend in more naturally with her teeth, and also opts for less obvious ceramic brackets than silver ones.

One of the greatest difficulties for teens wearing metal braces is learning to bite into foods such as apples, corn on the cob and carrots that require chewing – these will pull and push on their braces and become more visible than usual.

This teen has done an outstanding job of drawing attention away from her mouth and onto her eyes with eye shadow and large earrings.
