How to Stop Cartoon Teen Sex
A 16-year-old approached our Helpline concerned about an incident from two years prior where he watched an online comic that depicted children engaging in sexual acts. While he doesn’t believe he did anything illegal, he feels this may have become problematic and wonders how he can stop.
Cartoon pornography is an everyday reality and children, teens and even adults may accidentally view or search for such child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Some countries even prohibit showing cartoons depicting minors due to fears they could lead to real world instances of child exploitation.
Studies conducted by the Parents Television Council reveal that shows targeting 12-year-olds on Disney, Adult Swim and Nick at Nite with depictions of pedophilia, rape, prostitution; profanity; drug use and oral sex were prevalent across 123 episodes across three weeks from these networks – almost every two minutes 19 seconds they contained adult content!
Additionally, some Cartoon Network shows like Steven Universe have attracted audiences outside their target demographics. Bronies–fan art created by fans known as bronies who create art that is exploitive and sexualized–drawing preteen characters who look adult to Western eyes–while also depicting scenes that push boundaries of what can be considered kiddie stuff such as depicting young-looking characters with sexual content or plot lines that push the limits further than usual. Hentai double-X Japanese animation pushes further this by depicting young-looking characters depicted with sexual content or plotlines which push beyond boundaries that can be considered kiddies stuff; additionally there is triple X Japanese animation which pushes boundaries further with depictions depicting young-looking characters depicted with sexual content/plolines/plolines depicted.
