Teen Onlyfans Leak
OnlyFans is an adult subscription site which enables users to post explicit images and videos for which they charge a subscription fee, causing considerable concern among parents. While the majority of cases of children using OnlyFans involve girls, counsellors at Childline have received reports from boys as young as 16 saying it altered their perceptions about sex. OnlyFans now manually reviews each application to prevent under-age access and has doubled its compliance staff numbers working within its system.
OnlyFans is also implementing new rules, requiring members to verify their age and identity with a selfie selfie verification process. But even with these changes in place, teenagers still manage to join. We conducted tests of their “new exceptionally effective” age-verification system and managed to set up an account for a 17-year-old using her sister’s passport; OnlyFans states it is working closely with authorities on this matter and has upgraded its verification systems to decrease chances of similar incidents happening again.
Some parents are being warned of photos and videos posted to OnlyFans being shared online, potentially leading to abuse for their children. There’s no guarantee the website will remove content uploaded illegally elsewhere.
The OnlyFans scandal has resulted in renewed calls for stricter laws surrounding online sexual content. The government has pledged to introduce an online safety bill, which could see websites fined if they fail to protect children online; but implementation could take some time, prompting some experts to argue it may come too late.
